Icelandic Volcanoes

Just a short note that Heading Out at Bit Tooth Energy is tracking the situation with the Icelandic volcano (here and here). Although I don't completely buy all of his analysis (in particular, he's an evil climate change denier and that keeps creeping into his writing :-), I do think he's right that there is some level of risk of a globally significant event here and it's worth keeping an eye on.

Grin, actually I don't, if you read the posts I am putting up on state temperatures, deny that the climate is changing. I never have, but I do point out that once the errors of the dendrochronology are recognized, the Medieval Warming Period was at least as warm as we are now, and that the current warming out of the coldest period of the last 10,000 years has been going on for over a hundred and fifty years etc etc (You will note from the temperature posts that I am letting the "chips fall where they may", since that is how honest scientific inquiry progresses.)

HO: I will cautiously allow that there are perhaps the beginnings of signs of hope for your soul in the state temperature posts :-)
